Upon completion of the DESSA, educators receive SEL Strategies and Tier 2 Intervention Recommendations directly aligned to students’ DESSA assessment results.
The Data-Driven Recommendations take all of the guesswork out of post-assessment action planning and give educators immediate access to resources to support their students.
Universal SEL Strategies
The SEL strategies are research-based and provide direct instruction of SEL skills in the six DESSA competency areas.
Designed for Tier 1 instruction, each strategy is designed for ease of use and requires little to no advance preparation. Strategies include step-by-step instructions with options for extension activities so educators have flexibility in how and when they incorporate SEL into the school day.
Reflection activities included with each strategy strengthen students’ self-awareness skills and encourage educators to consider what worked for their students.
Targeted Intervention Programs
Targeted intervention programs consist of five multi-week programs designed for targeted small groups of students who need intensive competency building.
Each Tier 2 intervention lesson allows students to build skills through repeated and regular practice. Every lesson follows a similar sequence of activities and includes facilitator support guides and tools.
Strategies Tracking is an easy organizational system to help educators keep track of the strategies they are implementing and whether they have been completed.
Easily record at point of use which strategies are being used and which have been completed. Track which strategies are being used across multiple sites. Apply filters to create custom groups of students to allow for more targeted strategy application. Select specific students or groups of students to track their progression.
